Ada beating victim dies, 2 arrested
PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- The victim of a beating outside an Ada home on December 23 has died.

ADA, Okla. -- The victim of a beating outside an Ada home just before Christmas has died. Eduardo Martinez Negrete, 36, dies from injuries sustained on December 23.

Police have arrested two men in connection with the crime, 34-year-old Luis Coronado Jr. and 28-year-old Francisco Javier Herrera Jr, both on first degree murder complaints.

Authorities say Negrete had been in the hospital since the beating until he died.

Ponotoc County District Attorney Jim Tillison says the two men have not been charged. They are being held without bail.
