Marietta schools will be closed Wednesday due to a water line break near the Middle School. The 3-inch line serves the Middle and High Schools, but the district will close all three schools for the day.
The break happened on a three-inch line around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night and crews will work into the night to get it repaired, but Maintenance Director Al Freeman says the schools will definitely be closed on Wednesday.
The on-going drought is to blame for the break - the shifting earth was too much for the cast iron pipe to handle.
