TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A Hugo man has been sentenced to 70 years in
prison after admitting he took photos of an 8-year-old girl as she showered in her home in Broken Arrow.

Michael Baker pleaded guilty to an indecent exposure charge that applies to preparing or exhibiting obscene material or child pornography.

Baker was painting at the home in April when the girl told her father she saw a shadow in the bathroom as she was showering. The girl said she then saw the painter on his hands and knees on the bathroom floor.

Baker was arrested later that day and court documents say he indicated he took photos of the girl with a camera phone.

MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!!! Like it or not, we pay for criminals mishaps. Who else better to pay for than someone who had the intent that he did. That little girl will probably always be afraid to undress. If he was sick enough to want pictures, thank God he's behind bars and unable to do anything worse. I would much rather pay for his meals and housing than for that little girl to pay for extensive therapy and medication for the rest of her life. There's no price too high when I think about how many children's lives will be better now that he is behind bars.

Personally, I don't believe 20yrs is enough for murder, nor do I believe 70yrs is enough for this guy and those like him. I'd rather my taxes didn't have to help keep him fed and clothed, but there is a lot I wish my taxes didn't have to pay for.

Karen in Plano-----the guy is NOT 70 years old!!! They gave him 70 years in prison. I agree with Anonymous tho'. Why 70 years when murder will only get them 20 years???

i think if that kid wanted to take a shower in her own home she should be able to w/out the worries of some idiot harming her in any way. this guy is sick, if he is going to do this with the dad in the house he has real problems. 70 years is not enough.

I know that guy!

I don't blame the 70 year old. I feel like it's the parents fault. I'm not saying what he did, wasn't wrong, because it is. I just think that this wouldn't have happened if the parents were aware of what was happening in thier house. I also think that 70yrs in jail is too long. Its not like he committed manslaughter. This is also just taking money, from us, tax payer. So from where I see it, he won. We are going to paying for him housing and food for 70yrs. So ask yourself, is he he happy one or is it us? Because im not happy.

KILL ALL, I REPEAT ALL OF THESE OFFENDERS, THEY CANNOT BE REHABILITATED. SENDING THEM TO PRISION IS A WASTE OF MONEY. ONCE CONVICTED HANG THEM.

If she wasn't safe in her own how safe would she have been if she'd come in conatct with him in the park? Maybe assulted or dead? It doesn't matter how much it cost, compared to what was saved..another innocent child victim of a man who is sick. I am proud of the judge who chose his sentence.Fozzy you like to take pics with your camera? hmmm

70 years! Seriously? He would have been sentenced to less for killing somebody. Sick freak, but 70 years is ridiculous.

This is not the first time for this type of stuff for him. 2 different convictions for indecent exposure plus burglary.

Why does this get you 70 years when, in many cases, murder gets you less than 20? Is there something more to the story here? Or does our society really think that this is worse than killing.

Showers in prison are not going to be fun for him, he is going to see lots of shadows.

Posted by: Fozzy Location: Ardmore on Jan 7, 2009 at 05:15 PM
Who the hell would allow their 8 year old to get naked (even in the shower) with workers (STRANGERS) in the home? I think 70 years is just silly.. a good thrashing, caning and or some other painful comeuppance would have saved everyone a hell of of a lot of money..

The creep should be castrated and sentenced to life in the GENERAL population of prison!
