ARDMORE, Okla. ―Oklahoma state authorities are investigating allegations of misconduct by the Carter County Drug Court.

The Oklahoma State Attorney General's Office confirmed Wednesday they are investigating the possible misappropriation of District 20 Drug Court money.

The State Attorney General’s Office says they have been working the case for more than a month and a half, but would not say who exactly they are investigating.

Carter County district attorney Craig Ladd says he will not be taking the case because of a conflict of interest. Instead, Pontotoc County district attorney Chris Ross will review the report once the investigation is finished.

Former drug court chief Garland Morgan resigned last month.

We tried to talk to the interim drug court chief appointed by Judge Lee Card, but her office refused an interview.

LawDawg: If you are truly a law enforcement officer, you should know that the D.A.'S Office has nothing to do with the oversight or the administration of the Drug Court. Your Legislators established the Drug Courts, which are administered by District Judges. And, bye-the-way, Garland Morgan is not an employee of the District Attorney.

No Anonymous, your conviction still stands.

I think it's weird how not to long ago the same thing happened at the drug task force (which I honestly believe that the person blamed was and is innocent), and now it's happening again here. hhhhmmmm i'm thinking that we should start looking at the people higher up in the da's office.

It was kinda funny how Garland Morgan just up and quit one day. Now everyone around here that's involved is in COVER-UP mode.

Naughty Naughty Naughty !!!! GOT CAUGHT WITH YOUR HAND IN THE COOKIE JAR!!!!!! Have you noticed how many people who work for the DA's Office have turned crooked?? Or is it just me?? Maybe time for a big time change. Start at the top and work your way down and CLEAN HOUSE!! Cops in this county work hard to make cases and the "Plea Bargan Kings" make a deal.. Hey they should just start filming that game show at the Carter/Love Co Court House.
