DURANT, Okla. ― Two big heists in Durant in less than a week may be related. Police say the same suspects in Tuesday’s burglary of Salita's restaurant may be responsible for the theft of $11,000 in drugs at a local pharmacy on Friday. Now police are asking for your help to find the crooks before they strike again. Photojournalist Rick Springer has the story.

"Here recently in the last two weeks we've had two major burglaries, one at the Medicine Store pharmacy and one at Salita's restaurant. We do know from the Medicine Store burglary that there were two gentlemen that broke in. We've got some good videos of them, surveillance videos," Lt. Andy Navid of the Durant Police Department says.

Navid said police aren’t saying much on the investigation because they have surveillance equipment and feel like we have a good lead."

a safe was taken and an undisclosed amount of money was taken From Salita's Mexican restaurant, a popular establishment on Main Street.

"My employees are more upset than I am about this incident because this is like home to them. They just want to go bust down doors and find these people,” Salita’s owner Mark Rawlings said.

Police say it is possible that both of these burglaries are related and they are currently looking for suspects.

If you have any information into either the Medicine Store or Salita's burglaries, you are urged to call Durant Crimestoppers at 580-924-8845.

Salita's robs people everyday... mediocre food at high prices... I can't say I feel too sorry for them.

Why do they need help? They have good clear pictures, and these folks are obviously local if not legal. Get off your duffs and go pick them up!

"there were two gentlemen that broke in" GENTLEMEN? I sure do get tired of "political correctness."

Congrats to the Durant Po-Po for now actively pursuing people who break into pharmacies! Does this reflect an actual policy change within the department, or is it just because they don't believe it's a cop this time?
