HOUSTON (AP) - Former Oklahoma quarterback Rhett Bomar is transferring to Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas.
The move comes less than a month after Bomar and offensive lineman J-D Quinn were kicked off the O-U team by coach Bob Stoops for violating N-C-A-A rules. An O-U investigation found the two took money for work they never performed at a Norman car dealership.
Sam Houston head coach Todd Whitten and athletic director Bobby
Williams say in a prepared statement that Bomar has enrolled at Sam
Williams says Bomar's situation is "unique" and he will help Bomar continue his education and athletic career. He says Sam Houston will ask the N-C-A-A to reinstate Bomar as quickly as possible.
Bomar set an O-U freshman record with two-thousand-18 passing yards last season and was named M-V-P of the Holiday Bowl after O-U's win over Oregon.
