Plainview High School is starting a new tradition and honoring a fallen classmate at the same time. The school constructed the victory arch after the death of student athlete Zack Roderick.
Roderick, a football player, was killed in a car accident back on August 3. The brick arch features Zack's number twenty one and a bell that will ring as the players come out for games and after touchdowns. Plainview officials say it's a way for the school to honor Zack and begin a new tradition.
Plainview will first use the bell in their season opener tomorrow night against Blanchard.
