9-9-06 – Local patients and doctors worked to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis on Saturday morning. The disease affects the central nervous system; symptoms vary between patients, but many suffer from slow or uncoordinated body movements.
Saturday, the 3rd Annual MS Celebration and Commemorative walk was held at the Midway Mall to raise money for research and diagnosis of the disease. The local Lone Star MS chapter organized the event.
The Texoma Neurology Associate in Sherman helped form the local chapter with the National MS Society three years ago. An MS support group meets monthly. For more information, call: (903) 893-5141.
