RICHARDSON, Texas (AP) - Police are searching for a Garland man in connection with a morning shooting in a church parking lot.
Police say 43-year-old Alveda Edwards, of Richardson, was fatally shot in the face.
Authorities say 46-year-old Tommy Edwards Jr., of Garland, and Alveda Edwards met in the parking lot of Greenville Avenue Church of Christ before services began to discuss their relationship.
Richardson police Sgt. Kevin Perlich said it wasn't immediately clear what the status of their relationship was.
He said the two were talking when Tommy Edwards pulled out a gun and shot at Alveda Edwards several times before fleeing the scene.
Alveda Edwards was pronounced dead at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
