GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) - You can about imagine the jittery nerves on a United Airlines flight that wound up being diverted this September eleventh.
The flight from Atlanta to San Francisco made an unscheduled stop in Dallas, after the airline says an unclaimed hand-held computer was found on board.
All 50 passengers were re-screened before the flight was cleared
to continue to California.
The Transportation Security Administration also says an unclaimed backpack was found on the jet before it left Atlanta, but it was traced to a woman from an earlier flight. As for the diversion to Dallas, a T-S-A spokeswoman calls it "an abundance of caution."
United Airlines had two of its planes hijacked on Nine-Eleven. One hit the south tower of the World Trade Center, the other crashed in Pennsylvania.
