9-11: Front Lines with Local Guardsmen

9-11-06 - On the anniversary of 9-11, 400 National Guardsmen based out of Durant are dealing with the War on Terror every day. Since June, the soldiers have been on the ground in Afghanistan, part of a 1.5 year mission to the region. On Monday, some of those soldiers shared their thoughts with fellow soldier and KXII photojournalist Todd Larkin. You can hear their thoughts and see the work they’re doing by following the video links.

From building roads and schools to providing school and medical supplies, Larkin reports that the 1-180th is doing plenty of good each day in Afghanistan. Todd is also keeping a blog, or web diary, of his activities in the area. You can read it by clicking here or by clicking on the Hometown Reports icon on the front page of this website.
