MARIETTA, OK – It’s time to reveal this week’s A+ Athlete. For that, we head up to Marietta High School where David Reed introduces us to a multi-sport superstar and a standout in the classroom.
This week’s A+ athlete is Tanica Anderson of Marietta High School. She's a standout basketball player and track star, but she also shines in the classroom. She's an All-State Academic Scholar; she's on the principal's honor roll and a member of Who's Who. Tanica has won awards in chemistry and essay writing and despite all her success on the court, her academics come first.
On the court, Tanica's lists of achievements are too long to list. She's led her team to the state tournament the last two years and currently has them ranked 5th in the state. She's an all-state basketball player and a conference MVP.
In track, she's won state in five different events, including winning the 200 meter dash three times for a total of 7 gold medals. She also set the state record in the 400, making her one well rounded athlete.
Congratulations to Tanica Anderson on being named this week’s A+ Athlete.

We'll introduce you to another A+ Athlete every Friday here on First News AM. School officials, coaches, teachers, and counselors are encouraged to send in your nominees.
