PARIS, TX-- Athletes filled Wildcat Stadium Tuesday morning, competing in the third annual Lamar County Junior Special Olympics.
Nearly 100 Students from North Lamar and Paris ISD's competed in track and field events, all walking away winners.
Mentors, from both districts, and first responders were there to lend a helping hand and give their support. Special Education teacher Elizabeth Cass says, the event is a great experience for everyone involved.
"It touches your heart," said Cass. "It brings you back down to earth and makes you know that God gave you abilities and don't take those for granted."
Some of the events included long jump, tennis and softball throw and several running events.
