9-24-06 – A local veterans group is taking part in a new tradition to honor fallen soldiers. Saturday, the American Legion Post 231 presented the family of Sgt. James Muldoon with a plaque to honor his sacrifice in Iraq. He was killed in combat action on June 29th. The soldier from Bells left behind a wife and small child.
The American Legion raised money for two plaques. One was given to the family and the other will be displayed at the American Legion.
The Post is working to raise money to make plagues for other local families. Donations are accepted at the American Legion. For more information, call 903-815-8333.
