09-28-06 – There’s a blood shortage across Texoma and local hospitals are asking for help. The shelves at the Texoma Regional Blood Center in Sherman are empty, and officials there say they are in dire need of O Positive and O Negative blood. There's also a shortage of B Positive and B Negative types.
Officials say the reason for the shortage can't be narrowed to one specific reason, but any little amount of blood can help.
The Texoma Regional Blood center is on the Texoma Parkway in Sherman and they're open from 8 to 5:30PM Monday through Friday.
Officials say one pint of blood can save three lives.
