Governor Brad Henry Talk Education in Ardmore

11/05/03 - Oklahoma's education system faces plenty of problems. Today, the man who one year ago campaigned on the promise of turning those problems around paid a visit to Ardmore. Governor Brad Henry was in town to talk about the state's educational system. Henry even paid a personal visit to will Roger's Elementary School to meet students and teachers, and help in the dedication of the school library. For the last two years, education funding in Oklahoma has been on a steep decline but Henry is still optimistic. Henry also spoke about his plans to increase funding in Oklahoma. Those plans include still include pushing for a statewide lottery.

Children’s Center Honors Volunteers

Sherman Public Library Summer Reading Club sign ups

Children ages birth-11 can Dig into Reading and join the Youth Summer Reading Club. The theme for the Teen Summer Reading Club this year is Beneath the Surface and it is open to teens ages 12-18.
