Motorcycle Riders Critically Injured

10-7-06 - Two motorcycle riders were critically injured when their bikes ran off a Bryan County highway on Friday night. It happened around 7:45 when troopers believe both Texas men failed didn’t slow down for a stop sign on Newberry Creek road at US Hwy 70.

51-year old Darrell Stevenson of Dawson, Texas and 50-year old Kenneth Dunagan of Corsicana, Texas both ended up wrecking their bikes into a ditch. Both men were ejected from their bikes and suffered serious injuries to their head and body. Rescuers flew both men from the scene to Parkland Hospital in Dallas where they are listed in critical condition.

Troopers say neither rider was wearing a helmet.
