10-7-06 - Two cars collided head-on along SH 91 on the Denison Dam Saturday evening, injuring several people including two children who are in critical condition. The OHP reports a 2002 Chevy Pick-up was southbound when a 2005 Nissan sedan turned in front of it.
The accident happened at 4:50pm near Cartwright. Henry Berkheimer, 64, was driving the pick-up. The Denison man suffered head, arm, leg and trunk external injuries. He’s listed in fair condition. Vicky Killerlain, 50, was a passenger in the pick-up. She is in fair condition/
Rebecca Baker, 40, was driving the Nissan. She suffered external and internal
injuries and was in stable condition.
Her two children were in the backseat. Six-year-old Ivy Baker was taken to Childrens Hospital in Dallas with critical injuries. Her sister, 4-year-old Drew Baker, was flown to Childrens as well, where she is listed in critical condition.
Everyone was wearing seat belts. Troopers say the cause of the collision was a failure to yield on the part of Baker.
