Texas First Lady Anita Perry was in Sherman on Monday campaigning for her husband, Governor Rick Perry.
The first lady spoke Monday morning at the Finley Cultural Center in Sherman. She talked about her husband's views on the economy, and his hopes for education.
She says the state has welcomed more than 600,000 jobs since her husband took over. Now, Perry says her husband is hoping for a $2,000 teacher pay raise.
The general election is November 7. Perry is facing off against Democrat Chris Bell and Independents Kinky Freedman and Carole Keeton Strayhorn.
