Grisham Pens Novel on Local Man

10-9-06 - Best-selling novelist John Grisham has written a non-fiction book recounting the story of an Ada man who was wrongfully convicted of a murder he didn’t commit. “An Innocent Man” tells the tale of Ron Williamson, who was blamed for killing an Ada waitress in 1982, along with Dennis Fritiz.

Both men were vindicated in 1999, thanks to DNA evidence. Williamson died 2 years ago from a longtime illness, but his sisters sold the rights to his story, and Grisham penned his first non-fiction book. It hits store shelves on Tuesday.
