10-10-06 WAXAHACHIE, Texas (AP) - Authorities say two road crew workers died Monday when a pickup swerved and hit the back of their highway equipment near Waxahachie.
Two other workers were injured and taken to the hospital. Their conditions weren't immediately available.
Officials say the workers had been spraying tar on the right lane of the US 287 bypass near Parks School House Road.
Lieutenant Russell Poynor says the pickup left its lane and veered into the closed lane where the workers were on duty.
The driver was being questioned. He didn't suffer serious injuries.
