Forty-year-old Kevin Michael Jones called the Collin County Sheriff's Office Tuesday morning claiming he strangled his girlfriend. Authorities later found Jones sitting on the porch. Inside the home was the body of 43-year-old Tracy Jean Vittrell.
Jones has been taken into custody for questioning and remains there as of Tuesday night. Neighbors say they didn't think the relationship was violent, but there were warning signs.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's department says it's too early to know if and what kind of charges will be filed against Jones or how his girlfriend died.
