Tuesday they erected a billboard in their honor. It's a tribute to those in the 345th National Guard who will finally be coming home sometime next week.
The group was deployed to Iraq back in February, and a group of local residents thought it would be a good idea to have something to give them when they got back.
Using donations from a group of 20 people, local residents were able to purchase a billboard across the street from the National Guard Center.
Those who helped with the project say it's a good way to let them know they were remembered. The sign will stay up for one month and then it will be taken down and hung up in the National Guard Center. The group plans to put up another sign in April when more troops are expected home.
