Sulphur Girls Basketball Coach Resigns

10-12-06 - Less than nine weeks into a new job, the Sulpur High School girls’ basketball coach abruptly resigned.

The assistant superintendent says Coach Pete Hollock turned in his resignation Tuesday morning after parent concerns prompted the principal to investigate.

School officials are not saying what the allegations involved but say the investigation found nothing criminal.

The school board will vote to accept his resignation at a meeting Friday at noon.

This was Hollock’s first year at Sulphur. Before that, he taught in Durant. In Sulphur, he also taught history.
