WASHINGTON (AP) - offer through-ticketing at Love Field as soon as the Federal Aviation Administration O-K's the changes.
The Wright Amendment was enacted in 1979 to bolster then-fledgling Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, where American Airlines is based.
The amendment limited direct flights from Love Field to adjoining states.
But a compromise was reached this year by the carriers, Dallas,
Fort Worth and others to ease restrictions now -- and lift all flight limits by 2014.
American, which has a big hub at DFW, expects to offer through-ticketing from Love Field to much of the country by way of St. Louis.
