The following is a news release from the Sherman PD:
On October 13, 2006 at approx. 1200 hours, Sherman Police narcotics served a search warrant in the 1300 block of East Jones. The search warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation by Sherman narcotic officers. The search warrant was executed by Sherman narcotic officers, detectives and patrol officers.
Officers found three people inside the residence, one of the occupants fled out the rear of the residence once the warrant was served, but was detained by a detective.
Officers searched the residence and discovered well over 4 grams of CRYSTAL METHAMPHETAMINE, scales and packaging used to distribute METHAMPHETAMINE. Officers also discovered approx. $17,000 in cash. In addition a loaded handgun and counter surveillance equipment was located.
Two of the residents were arrested at the scene and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to distribute. They are Jerry Ray,43, and Heather Manley, 32.
The owner of the residence was not home at the time, but a warrant will be pursued for their arrest once the case is filed with the Grayson County District Attorney’s office.
The firearm is a federal violation and will be filed with the United States Attorney’s office in Sherman.
