10-15-06 - The much-needed rain in the Texoma area led to several accidents across the area. The worst wreck happened at 6:30am Sunday near Madill when two people were killed.
State Troopers say a Ford Mustang was traveling north on hwy 70 when it hit a tanker truck head-on at the intersection of highway 70 and FM 106.
Both the driver and the passenger of the Mustang were killed on impact. The truck overturned, but the driver was not injured. The truck was carrying gasoline but fire and haz-mat crews were on the scene to make sure there wasn't a leak.
Just before the crash, witnesses say the Mustang passed a truck hauling a horse trailer in a no passing zone. Investigators say the case is still on-going as to why the mustang ran into the truck. Until it is complete, the names of the victims will not be released.
