10-18-06 - A Murray County dog pound is back open today, after a deadly virus forced it to shut down last week.
Last Tuesday, a stray dog living in the pound died of the Parvo-virus. In order to decontaminate the area, Sulphur Police had to close the shelter and euthanize the nine dogs living there. This was the second time the virus struck the shelter in two weeks.
The pound is back open for business.
