Fatal Plane Crash in Osage County

HOMINY, Okla. (AP) - Two 18-year-olds from Wichita, Kansas, remain in fair condition today at a Tulsa hospital after being injured in a plane crash that killed two other Kansans.

A spokeswoman at St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa says John Rice and Ryan Biedren are still in fair condition today.

The crash about 1:45 Sunday morning near Hominy in Osage County killed the 17-year-old pilot Ryan Sageser and his father - 46-year-old Markham Sageser.

The four were returning to Wichita from Tulsa where they had attended a concert.

National Transportation Board Investigator Ben Gamble says the sky was overcast but weather probably wasn't a factor. He says records and log books indicate the pilot knew how to fly and the weather was good enough to fly.

The N-T-S-B and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
