The Republican party of Grayson County increased its hold on county seats Tuesday night. Tracy Powers won the District Clerk position, defeating the democrat incumbent just under 1,000 votes.
But with the exception of that race and a few others, incumbents held strong across the KXII viewing area on Tuesday. All three area congressmen retained their seats amid a backlash against the GOP in other parts of the country.
Grayson County Commissioner Gene Short, a republican, held onto his district 4 seat, despite a strong challenge by democrat Mike Brady. Short won by just 177 votes.
