McALESTER, Okla. (AP) - A Kiowa woman who authorities say fled the scene after her vehicle struck two children, killing one of them, will stand trial for murder.
A judge in McAlester yesterday ordered 21-year-old Jona Montgomery to stand trial on a charge of second-degree murder.
She also will face a felony charge for failure to give information at the scene of an accident involving death and one misdemeanor count each of reckless driving, failure to carry proof of insurance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
McAlester Assistant Police Chief Darrell Miller said Montgomery was driving at a high speed September 1st the McAlester High School football stadium about the same time a football game was ending.
Authorities say Montgomery's car struck other vehicles before leaving the street and striking two siblings, Kristen and Aaron Collins of McAlester.
