WHITESBORO, TX -- Two people are dead after two serious accidents over the weekend on a major Grayson Country highway.
A 1988 Ford pickup collided with a 1999 Chevy SUV on U.S. Highway 377 at Reast Road north of Whitesboro just after 7:30 Friday night. Hollie and Bennie West were in the Chevy when it was hit on the passenger side by the Ford. Both died as a result of the crash. DPS says alcohol may have played a role in this accident.
Then on Sunday one woman was careflighted to a Dallas hospital after another accident on Highway 377 near Sandusky Road in Grayson County. DPS Troopers say the woman lost control of her vehicle, then swerved and hit a guardrail. They say she spun out of control and hit a wall over a bridge.
The woman was taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas as a precaution. She is expected to be okay.
