11-30-06 - A 75-year-old Wyoming man was killed on an Atoka County highway on Wednesday afternoon. Robert S. Morgan was eastbound on highway 3 when his 2007 Ford was hit head-on by an eastbound car.
That vehicle, a 1992 Ford pick-up, was driven by Amber A. Brown of Rattan. State troopers say the 16-year-old driver was trying to pass a tractor trailer in a no passing zone when she hit the car.
Brown was transported to Atoka Memorial Hospital and transferred to Valley View Hospital in Ada with a leg injury. She is listed
in good condition.
A passenger in her car, 65-year-old Mary F. Thurman of Antlers, was taken to Tulsa with head, trunk internal, and trunk external injuries. She is listed in critical condition.
Theresa V. Morgan of Wyoming was a passenger in the 2007 Ford. The 62-year-old woman was taken to a Tulsa hospital with head, neck, trunk external, and leg injuries. She is listed in critical condition.
All occupants wear wearing seatbelts.
