DURANT, OK -- A Calera man who allegedly shot another man in the head in an armed robbery has turned himself in to authorities.

The Durant Police Department released his name as being spelled with a "D"... Candro. But this family member assures us that his last name is in fact Cangro with a "G." Durant Police tell us that James Cangro, 28, surrendered himself Sunday morning, and he was then taken into custody.

Police expect that Cangro will be charged with robbery and shooting with intent to kill after he shot a man in the head at a house in Durant.

Durant Police dispatched officers to a home in the 900 block of West Cedar Street just after 10:30 Friday night. They say Cangro shot the victim in the head, took his wallet, and fled the scene.

That victim's name is not being released, but he was flown to a hospital in Oklahoma City and is listed in stable condition.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections website, Cangro had previously been convicted of burglary and aggravated assault and battery.
