12-4-06 Police say drugs and gang activity could be behind the murder of a Tishomingo teen. Authorities believe 17-year-old Dale Catron was visiting family in Ada when he was shot to death inside a 14th street home. Investigators still are not sure why he was there or what the shooter's motive was.
Police think they have all those responsible in custody; there are four suspects in all. Currently 26-year-old William Weaver – James, 26-year-old Scotty Brooks, 22-year-old Amy Gage and 23-year-old Sharla Weaver all of Ada are awaiting charges in connection with the killing.
Dale Catron was a junior at Tishomingo High School where he played football, ran track and was a member of the FFA. Dale leaves behind a large family and an even bigger network of friends who remembered him today with black ribbons, t-shirts, posters, and messages written on cars. Counselors were at the school to talk to classmates.
Police are still investigating this evening and are still waiting on a report from the medical examiner. Services for Catron are still pending but officials with Clark Funeral Service say it could be Thursday or Friday.
