In Ardmore two local schools were put on lockdown after police say a man made threats against his own children. An Oklahoma City man made threats to his ex-wife over the phone saying he would come to the schools and harm their three children. Will Rogers and Franklin elementary schools were then put on lockdown after the threats came in around 11:30 Tuesday morning. Officers stood guard at both schools and did not allow anyone to enter or leave the buildings.
With police by her side the ex-wife spoke with the suspect throughout the day until Oklahoma City police located him just before school let out. No arrests have been made but the man remains at the Oklahoma City police department for questioning. The man could face charges for making terroristic threats and obstructing an officer. When news of the lockdown spread some concerned parents came and picked up their kids early. All students were released from school safely.
