12-05-06 The person authorities believe to be responsible for a fire at a Dollar General Store turns out to be a store employee. Fire investigators say Pamela Renee Thomas set fire to the Dollar General Store on Travis street.
She turned herself in to officials Tuesday after being questioned. Sherman Fire Chief Jeff Jones says Thomas was working the night before Thanksgiving, when the fire broke out. Jones says Thomas knew information about the blaze that only the person who set it would know.
Thomas is accused of setting four fires in the store; the last one causing nearly half a million dollars worth of damage. Thomas had been an employee of the Dollar General Store for three months.
