12-05-06 Southeastern Oklahoma State University president Glen Johnson has been named chancellor of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education.

Johnson, who has been with Southeastern since 1997, was unanimously chosen by Oklahoma regents Tuesday. Johnson also served in the state legislature for 14 years.

While at S.O.S.U., Johnson helped the school become one of the top choices for students from the area. Johnson's appointment is expected to take affect early next year. He succeeds interim chancellor Phil Moss. There's no word yet on Johnson's possible successor at Southeastern.
