Hyde Park Elementary School is being forced to close for the day.
The City of Denison has informed Denison Independent School District officials that a main water line in the Hyde Park area (at Loy Lake, near Wesley Village) has broken, and that repairs will not be complete until sometime after lunch on Wednesday. Consequently, Hyde Park Elementary School does not have water for restroom facilities, for drinking or for preparing the noon meal for children.
All parents are being contacted, and no students will be released until parents have been made aware of the situation. Buses will begin running at 11 a.m. and parents can begin picking up children at 10:30 a.m. Any students remaining will be bused to other elementary schools for lunch. Bottle water is being provided for the children.
