12-6-06 TMC announced that a company called Universal Health Services will acquire the hospital. As a result of the acquisition TMC will have a new building in three years. During a press conference officials said they met with twenty two different medical management agencies before narrowing it down to Universal. The Pennsylvania based company operates more than one hundred facilities nation wide including hospitals in Enid, Oklahoma and Amarillo, Texas.
TMC administrators say the acquisition will include building a new 220 private bed hospital with plans for more growth after the initial expansion. Officials say no hospital jobs will be affected. If anything a larger hospital will mean more jobs. The acquisition will become final in January. The planning stages of the new hospital will begin Thursday. The hospital will be built in Denison and the name will remain the same.
