12-8-06 Seven Grayson County schools have been recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as some of the best in the state. The rankings are a result of the findings of the Austin-based National Center for Educational Accountability. They measure how students fare in all subjects of study and then combine it with the demographic make-up of the students at each school to determine which schools are performing at higher levels than other schools. Overall 281 elementary schools and 218 middle schools were selected. This places the elementary schools in the top 7 percent of the state and the middle schools in the top 14 percent. Both Perrin and Piner will be honored by Sherman ISD on December 18th.
