12-12-06 Referendum Results for Southern Oklahoma:

Proposition one, which would allow for the completion of phase two of the elementary, failed. It received only 56% of the vote, 60% was needed to pass proposition one.

Proposition two, which designates $750,000 for new buses, passed with 61% of the vote.

Voters passed a half cent sales tax increase, 56% to 44%.
The sales tax increase will support local fire departments.

Voters passed a one cent sales tax extension that will pay for building and expansion of Integris Marshall County Hospital. The referendum passed by 71% to 29%.

Marietta voters passed a 1.9 million dollar bond issue for new classrooms at the elementary and high schools. 80% voted yes, 20% voted no.

58% of voters approved a half cent sales tax increase that will go toward building a new jail and renovating the courthouse.
