ARDMORE, OK -- Ardmore Police are asking for your help in identifying three men they believe are responsible for two purse snatchings earlier this month.
On June 1st, police say a thief grabbed an elderly woman's purse as she was loading her groceries into her car at a supermarket on North Commerce. He was seen leaving the scene in a tan SUV.
Minutes later, three white males attempted to use a credit card taken from the victim's purse at a store a few blocks down the street. The trio was captured on security video at that store.
The same three men are also suspects in an attempted purse snatching that occurred the next day in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on West Broadway. The suspect - who is a white male - was seen leaving the area with two other males in a tan SUV possibly having Mississippi plates and displaying damage to the front grill.
The woman was not harmed. She struggled to hold on to her handbag, and nothing was stolen during the incident.
Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects pictured in the surveillance photos below. Anyone who knows these people, or who has information on either crime, is urged to contact the Ardmore Police Department at 580-223-6952 or Ardmore Crime Stoppers at 580-504-4LAW.
