12-14-06 Contaminated water around the Tanglewood subdivision and resort is causing problems for residents. Eco Resources manages the water treatment facility. Officials passed out a memo to residents letting them know about the contamination. One sample taken in August showed levels of trihalomethanes higher than the allowed amount. Eco Resources officials say the contaminants came from the Preston Shores water supply which was being used by Tanglewood during a drought. They also say that there are no immediate health risks as a result of the contamination, but those who associate with Tanglewood say they are getting sick of the problems. Eco Resources officials say customers do not need to stop using their supply.
