ADA, OK -- More than 120 border collies, rescued from a Pontotoc County property will soon have new homes.
The animal's owner was recently admitted into a nursing home and could no longer care for them.
The Humane Society of the United States today began helping the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Office move those dogs to animal shelters across the Midwest, where they can be placed for adoption.
The Humane Society of the United States has set up temporary shelter for the animals at P.A.W.S. in Ada, and is preparing to transport 50 dogs to the Dumb Friends League in Denver.
Staff members from the Nebraska Humane Society drove from Omaha to pick up the first 25 rescued dogs.
