12-22-06 The current Grayson County criminal justice software has been in place since 1991. In technological years that’s an eternity. So, county officials decided an upgrade was in order. The new software will allow managers to pull up files from all offices within the criminal justice system. It will also allow the county to move prisoners through the jailing process a lot faster and help speed up sentencing. The county has paid 1.5 million dollars for the new software; a software that has only been installed in six other counties in the state. It’s an expensive investment but the county says it's definitely worth the price. County officials say the program will be financed over a three year period with the first payment totaling $535,000 dollars in 2007.
