5-year-old nearly drowns in Denison

DENISON, TEXAS -- A 5-year-old nearly drowned at Eisenhower State Park Saturday afternoon.

Park rangers say around noon the child went missing. Shortly after, authorities say he was found in the surface of the water.

Rangers say the child was revived by CPR. He was taken by helicopter to a childrens' hospital in Dallas. At last check the child was breathing and even speaking.

"By the time we got there he was already out of the water and was crying and everything else. So, if there was one it was already taken off but I doubt there was," Park Ranger Richard Kellogg said.

Park Rangers say they are not sure if a life jacket was in use.
