OKLAHOMA CITY -- The bill proposed by Oklahoma State Senator Jay Paul Gumm that will help keep convicted sex offenders out of ice cream trucks has now become law in Oklahoma. Senate bill 1020 went into effect July 1st.

This law cracks down on domestic abusers and bans sex offenders from operating ice-cream vending trucks. It also requires employers to conduct background checks on those seeking a job in the field. Employers who discover one of their workers has been convicted of sex crime must now report the information to the district attorney immediately.
