PARIS, TX -- A phone call from a retired Paris Police chief may have thwarted a crime Tuesday morning.
Officers say just after 9 a.m. retired chief Karl Louis called officers about suspicious persons in the 200 block of South Collegiate Drive near a local bank. When investigators responded to the call, they questioned the men and found firearms in the vehicle.
One of the men, 28-year-old Richard Earl Davidson of Paris (pictured), was found to be a convicted felon and was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon.
The other man, 22-year-old Shaun Michael Blue of Paris, was placed under arrest for Suspicious Persons and Circumstances.
Both suspects are being held at Paris Police Department.
Items found in the vehicle indicate the two may be involved in other crimes in the northeast Texas area, so agents from the Sherman Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation are helping in the investigation.
