1-12-07 One Colbert woman is claiming she’s had to pay $200 in fines for a dog that isn’t hers. Patti Bell says a stray lab wandered into her backyard and ate the scraps she leaves out for cats around town. After dog catchers shot it with a tranquilizer gun, they issued her a citation because the dog was on the loose. But, she says the dog isn't hers. Oklahoma state law says after feeding a dog for ten days it's considered yours. However Bell says the dog hasn't been at her house that long. The Colbert City Council is scheduled to hear Bell's case in a meeting Friday night and expect to hear from the dog catcher.
